You are alone in a submarine with a draining ink tank and something enormous behind you. Touch and hold to rise. Let go and you sink. That is the entire control scheme — everything after that is nerve.

THE TANK IS THE CLOCK Ink is fuel, and it drains the whole time you run. Collect it and you keep your lead. Miss it and the gauge empties — and the hunter closes in. At the bottom of the tank it is right at your hull with its mouth open, and you have four seconds to reach one more canister before it takes you.

SEVEN HUNTERS, EACH WORSE THAN THE LAST It begins with a pufferfish spitting rings of air. Get far enough and something bigger eats it — and inherits the chase. Viperfish. Anglerfish. Shark. Predator. The deep sea fish that fires clouds of ink. And at the end of the line, the Megalodon.

Every species hunts differently: its own projectile, its own rhythm, its own patience. The later ones never fall far behind.
