Allergies, diets, family goals
A score built for the person eating, not the product on the shelf. Allergies, conditions, diets and goals all count. Score the food, buy or curate & share shopping lists.
A cereal can be perfectly safe for your child and still be a third sugar. A snack can be nutritionally excellent and still send someone to the hospital due to an allergy.
Score My Food gives you one number that accounts for both, worked out for the specific person who is going to eat it.
ONE SCORE, BUILT FROM BOTH Scan a barcode or photograph the label. You get a score out of 100 built from what the pack actually says and from that person's allergies, health conditions, diet and goals. An allergen doesn't just get flagged. It caps the score, because a safe-but-sugary product and a dangerous one should not look the same.
EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE, INCLUDED Add a profile for each person. One photo scores the same product for all of them, and children are scored against age-appropriate guidance rather than adult targets.
A SHOPPING LIST THAT KNOWS WHO IT'S FOR Add anything you scan to your list. Every item carries its score for every person in the house, so before you leave you can see whether the whole list works for everyone, or exactly which item doesn't and for whom.
SHOWS ITS WORKING Every score comes with the reasoning: which nutrients helped, which hurt, and by how much. You can look at a number and see exactly why it isn't higher. You can disagree with it. That's the point.
READS THE ACTUAL LABEL No barcode, or a product no database knows? Photograph the panel and it reads what's printed. Guided, three shots: the front, the nutrition panel, the ingredients.
FRUIT AND VEG TOO Loose produce oftentimes has no barcode and no label, so one photo is enough. An apple, a head of broccoli, a fillet of fish: each gets the same score against the same profile, so a whole shop can be checked, not just the packaged half of it.
ADDITIVES, WITH SOURCES Checked against additives banned or restricted by regulators, those under formal review, and those many people prefer to avoid, with each category explained rather than asserted.
COMPARE BEFORE YOU BUY See the product beside similar ones, scored the same way, on the same serving basis. Scan competitors yourself to compare them directly.
WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM
Every threshold and every piece of health guidance is cited in the app, with links to the original: FDA Nutrition Facts Daily Values, the World Health Organization, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, the NIH and the National Kidney Foundation. Nothing is a guess, and nothing is medical advice.
FREE TO START 20 foods to begin with, then 2 free every month. Every feature is on the free plan.
General guidance only. Not medical, nutritional or allergy advice. Always read the physical label before consuming, especially for allergies. If you manage rare or complex intolerances, use an app built specifically for that alongside this one.
