Features & Capabilities

Three modes, four difficulties, one thumb. Beat the clock in Classic, unwind in Zen — or flip one switch and go full 8-bit retro. Every run shuffles the colors.

Chromism is a color-matching reflex game you play with one thumb. The top of the screen shows a target color. The bottom shows yours. Tap left or right to step through your palette, land on the match, and hold it for a beat to score. Then the clock resets — a little shorter than before — and it all gets faster.

No lives, no boosters, no waiting. Just you, the colors, and the clock.

HOW TO PLAY • Look up: the top color is your target. • Tap left or right to change your color — the screen edges preview what's one step away. • Hold the match for a beat to score. Repeat, faster.

THREE MODES • Classic — the original run. Beat the clock, and watch it shrink as your score climbs. • Zen — no timer at all. Match at your own pace and unwind. • Rush — starts wider and faster, and only gets meaner.

FOUR DIFFICULTIES • Easy — the palette never grows. Learn the game with four colors. • Normal — one new color every 10 points. • Hard — two new colors every 10 points. • Extreme — the whole palette comes from one slice of the color wheel, so every color is a near-miss of every other.

The order colors arrive in is shuffled every run, so no two games feel the same. Every mode-and-difficulty combination keeps its own best score.

MADE WITH CARE • Game Center leaderboards, ranked per difficulty — Easy runs never race Extreme runs. • A guided demo that teaches the whole game in about twenty seconds of real play. • Color-blind friendly: a distinct glyph on every color, everywhere it appears. • Retro mode: one switch turns the whole game 8-bit — quantized colors, pixel type, a segmented clock and CRT scanlines. • Confetti when you beat your best. You earned it. • Music, sound effects and haptics, each with its own toggle. • Share any run straight from the results card. • Works fully offline. Portrait-only, on purpose. Respects reduced motion.

FAIR AND FREE Chromism is free. A small banner sits on the menu and results screens — never during play — and an occasional interstitial shows between games, capped, and never on top of a new personal best. A single one-time purchase removes every ad forever.

First released in 2015, rebuilt from the ground up. Same one-thumb rule, sharper everything.
