Features & Capabilities

Five calculators built for a load-in, in your pocket — the sums get done on a ladder, in a room with no signal.

Spike Tape is five field calculators for stage electricians, built to be checked against a hand-worked number rather than trusted on faith.

LOAD — watts and amps per circuit, with the 80% continuous-load rule applied automatically. Balance a rig across three phases by circuit or by fixture, and see the neutral current floor for non-linear (dimmer, LED) loads.

COLOR — mired shift and gel-cutting math for correcting one color temperature to another.

BEAM — beam diameter and field diameter at a given throw, or work backwards from a target coverage size to the angle (and real fixtures either side of it) that will produce it.

DMX — addressing and patch runs across universes, with both DIP-switch conventions ("all off = 1" and "switch 1 = 1"), because fixtures disagree about which one they use.

NETWORK — subnetting and address-planning for a lighting network. This screen plans a network; it never touches one. The app has no networking code.

No accounts, no sign-in, nothing saved to a server — the only thing remembered between launches is your light/dark appearance choice. Every screen has its own reset control. Built offline-first for a tech table or a booth with no signal.
