Trip Budget Pace

A trip gets interesting around the moment when the first excitement wears off and one practical question takes over: how much money is left, and how long will it last? You start by setting the total amount for the trip and splitting it into categories such as accommodation, food, transport, and entertainment. As you pay, you record each expense. The main screen keeps the route visible: what day of the trip you are on, current daily spending, how much remains, how many days are ahead, and how real spending compares with the plan.

Each category shows actual spending against its limit, with a progress bar and a remaining or overspent amount. Tiles show the projected result at the end of the trip, spending per person, prepaid costs, and saved receipts, while recent expenses stay close at hand. Adding a purchase opens a full-screen entry view with its own numeric keypad. In statistics, switch between daily bars with a dotted daily-budget line, category shares, and payment methods. Tap a day to open its details, compare plan versus actual by category, check prepaid spending against money used during the trip, and see the five largest expenses.

Traveling in one currency and paying in another? Enter the amount and exchange rate manually, and both values stay attached to the expense, so a purchase can remain visible as 48 € and 7,200 ISK. Prepaid hotels and tickets are marked separately, keeping them from distorting the daily pace once the trip begins. The app also calculates how much you can spend per day for the rest of the trip and where the current pace is leading. If the pattern points toward an extra €165 at the finish, you see that before the final day.

On first launch, three optional introduction screens explain the idea. Three sample trips are already there: an active Portugal trip with expenses, a completed Iceland trip with overspending, and an upcoming Tokyo trip in yen with prepaid bookings only. They appear only on the first installation. Everything stays on the phone: there is no registration, internet access, device sync, or automatic exchange-rate lookup. Expenses are tracked for the whole group, with an average per person rather than individual debt splitting.
