■ It works out when to review Every card you see is scheduled by spaced repetition (SM-2). Rather than raw accuracy, it estimates the probability that you actually know an item (BKT), so lucky guesses are told apart from real knowledge. Your weak list therefore holds what you do not yet know, not merely what you got wrong.

■ It works backwards from your exam date Set the date and it calculates how many cards a day you need from the time left, the items remaining and what you have mastered. If there isn't enough time, it says so. It will not call an impossible plan achievable.

■ No internet needed The dictionary and the questions come with the app when you install it. It works on a plane and on the underground. Your study history stays on this device and is sent nowhere.

No JLPT past papers are used. This app is not affiliated with JEES or the Japan Foundation. Level assignments are estimated from kanji grade and usage frequency, as the official lists are not published, and are a guide only.
