Calorie & macro photo tracker
Biteline turns a photo of your plate into calories, protein, carbs and fat in seconds.
No hunting through a database. No weighing every ingredient. Point your camera at a meal, and Biteline works out what is on the plate, estimates the portions, and adds it to your day.
HOW IT WORKS
- Photograph your meal, or pick a shot from your library.
- Biteline reads the plate and breaks it into ingredients, each with a weight.
- Change anything it got wrong — every gram is editable, and the totals follow.
- It lands in your diary and counts against today's target.
A TARGET BUILT FROM YOUR NUMBERS
Answer a few questions once: sex, age, height, weight, how active your week really is, and the goal you are actually working towards. Biteline calculates your daily calories and your protein, carb and fat split from those numbers using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation — not a one-size-fits-all default.
Change your weight or your pace later and it recalculates. Past days keep the target you were working to at the time, so your history stays honest.
WHAT YOU GET
• Photo scanning that returns calories, protein, carbs and fat
• A searchable food database with verified entries
• Add any food by hand — name it, set the macros, save it for next time
• A diary split into breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, always against your target
• Weight logging with a trend line and a projection towards your goal
• Optional reminders at meal times and a morning weigh-in, both off until you turn them on
• Every estimate editable, because no estimate is ever perfect
FREE, AND PREMIUM
Biteline is free to use, and the free tier is a real one. You get three AI scans every day. Everything else — logging by hand, the food database, the full diary, weight tracking, your history — is uncapped and stays free.
Premium raises the daily scan allowance to twenty and costs EUR 9.99 a month or EUR 89.99 a year. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you can cancel any time from your App Store account settings.
PRIVACY, PLAINLY
Biteline carries no advertising and no cross-app tracking. Nothing about you is combined with data from other apps, and nothing is sold or handed to data brokers.
We do measure how the app itself is used, so we can see what is broken: whether onboarding was finished, whether a scan succeeded and how long it took, where people stop. That runs through PostHog on servers in the European Union, and those events never carry your weight, your calories, your macros, the name of a food, or a photo.
Your meal photos are stored in the European Union and are analysed in the EU. Delete a meal and its photo is erased from our storage. Delete your account and every photo goes with it — permanently, with no hidden copy left behind.

BEFORE YOU START
Biteline estimates. A photo cannot know how much oil went into the pan, and no app can. The numbers are a good, consistent guide for tracking trends over time — they are not a laboratory measurement, and Biteline is not a medical device. If you have a medical condition or a specific dietary requirement, talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian rather than an app.
