Scorecard: Game Night is a scorepad for the games you already own. Pick the game, add the players, and score it round by round.

NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS There is no sign-in, no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising. There is also no server — nothing you score leaves your own devices, no analytics are collected, and there is no account to make because there is nothing to attach one to. Everything works offline.

EVERYONE SCORES FROM THEIR OWN PHONE One device hosts the game and the others join it over your own Wi-Fi network, directly, with no internet connection and nothing in the middle. A score entered anywhere appears everywhere. It works across platforms too: whichever phone someone brought, they can join the same scorecard, so nobody has to pass the pad around.

PUT IT ON THE TELEVISION Show on TV sends a live scoreboard to the Apple TV app for everyone in the room to read. The television is display-only — scoring stays on the device you are holding, and the board stays current as each round is scored.

THE GAMES IT KNOWS 7 Wonders, Antiquity Quest, Canasta, Clue, Compania, Cover Your Assets, Dominion, Elimino, Five Crowns, Flip 7, Flip 7: With a Vengeance, Fromage, Gnoming A Round, Hand and Foot, Hearts, The Isle of Cats, Magic, Munchkin, Nertz, Pegs and Jokers, Pinochle, Ripple, Rummy, Scotland Yard, Scrabble, Settlers of Catan, Shards of Creation, Skull King, Skyjo, Spades, Wingspan and Yahtzee.

Several ask which expansions are on the table and score only those rows. Scrabble takes the word you played rather than a number and works the points out against a built-in word list. Pegs and Jokers is the board itself rather than a scorecard, so the game travels without the wood.

THE ONES PLAYED STANDING UP Badminton, Basketball, Football, Golf, Pickleball, Racquetball, Soccer, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball have a tab of their own. Each draws its own court or field, and the drawing is how you score it: tap where the play happened and the zone says what it was worth. Basketball also plays H-O-R-S-E, and Golf keeps a round of disc golf as readily as a round of golf.

WHEN NOTHING FITS Basic Scoring for anything played in rounds, Points Counter for a single running tally, Rounds Won for games decided by hands, Long-Term Scorecard for a season that runs for weeks, and Tournament for a bracket. There is a dice roller, and Pick a Player settles who goes first or splits you into teams that come out even.

ON YOUR WRIST The Apple Watch app scores all eleven sports on its own — Badminton, Basketball, Football, Golf, Pickleball, Racquetball, Soccer, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball — plus Rounds Won and Points, and it mirrors a game running on your phone. It can record a workout while you play, so a game counts toward your rings.

KEPT, NOT LOST Games save as you score, so closing the app mid-round loses nothing. Finished games move to an archive and can be exported as a PDF. Your settings, player roster and favourites follow you between your own Apple devices through iCloud. Every game explains itself the first time you open it, and again from its menu whenever somebody new joins.
