Place one cat in every row, every column and every outlined region. No two cats may touch — not side by side, not corner to corner. Every board has a single answer, and every answer can be reasoned out. Nothing in Catcross ever asks you to guess.

CATS The rules on their own, from gentle 5×5 grids up to 10×10. 600 boards, ordered so the difficulty climbs a step at a time.

CATS & MICE Every cat rule still holds, and a huddle of mice joins the board. No two mice share a region, every mouse touches another mouse edge to edge, and none will go anywhere near a cat. 200 boards.

MICE FIRST The same rules, built so the cats will not settle on their own. More than one arrangement survives the cat rules, and the only way to tell them apart is to ask which one leaves the mice somewhere to huddle. 50 boards.

LEARN IN A MINUTE A short lesson teaches the different rules for the stages with the squares that matter lit up, then hands over and asks for one cat at a time. It stays in the toolbar for good.

HINTS THAT EXPLAIN Stuck? The hint names the next logical step rather than simply filling in a square, so you learn the technique instead of borrowing the answer. If a board still defeats you, skip it after a few hints and carry on.

GAME CENTER Optional leaderboards for total points, how far along the path you have come, and your average solve time at each board size.
