Beer Brewer : Schmapps is a complete brewing journal that lives on your phone. No account, no cloud, no subscription - your recipes and your beer stay yours.

Write recipes, and let the app do the maths Add your malts, hops and yeast and it works out the original gravity, final gravity, alcohol content, bitterness and colour. It shows you which ingredients it could and could not use, so you always know what the estimate rests on.

Record a brew day properly Starting a brew from a recipe copies the ingredient list onto the batch. From then on they are separate, so tweaking the recipe next year will not rewrite what you actually brewed today.

Gravity readings that are corrected for you Hydrometer readings are corrected for sample temperature. Refractometer readings are corrected for alcohol once fermentation has started - and when the app cannot correct one honestly, it tells you instead of guessing.

Watch the fermentation Every reading is plotted against elapsed hours, with attenuation, the rate it is falling, and a plain description of what the readings are doing. The app will never tell you a beer is finished - that is your call, with the hydrometer in your hand.

Bottle it safely The priming calculator accounts for the CO₂ already dissolved in your beer, which most rules of thumb ignore. Get that wrong and bottles burst.

Then remember what it was like Tasting notes with aroma, appearance, flavour, mouthfeel and an optional rating. Come back to the same beer six months later and record it again.
