Volleyball Score: Rotations

Every volleyball scoreboard counts the same thing: points. This one records WHICH ROTATION you were in when each point happened — and then tells you what to do about it.

Tap the point. That is the whole entry. The app knows the rotation only advances on a side-out, so it follows the six-rotation cycle for you and stamps every rally with the rotation you were in.

WHAT IT WORKS OUT

• Your rotation ledger. All six rotations, side by side: side-out percentage, serve-point percentage, and the point margin each one is actually worth per set. • How much has been measured. A rotation you have only played twenty rallies in is marked as an estimate and stays out of the advice. No number is invented. • Which rotation to start the set from. Not a rule of thumb: the app solves the whole set — every score, every rotation, every serve — and gives you the expected point margin for each of the six openings. Then it hands you one line: start at R5, worth +3.1 over starting at R1. • The counterfactual: lift every rotation to your best one, and here is what your margin per set becomes.

THE MATCH

• Big score, the six-position wheel with your own players in it, and who is serving. • Rally-by-rally history with the rotation stamped on each point. • Best of 5, best of 3, single set and beach formats, deciding sets, and an optional point cap. • Long-press a point to log an ace, a kill, a block or an error — optional, one extra tap, never required. • Undo any rally. Save a half set or discard it; a half set never touches your ledger.
