Cosmetic labels bury thirty unpronounceable names in six-point type. Incy reads that list with your camera, decodes the INCI names against European cosmetic regulation data, and shows you line by line where the score came from.

WHAT THE SCORE MEANS

Incy scores the regulatory profile of an ingredient list — not the product, and not your skin. Every ingredient is checked against the EU CosIng dataset (Pro):

→ Banned in the EU (Annex II) → Conditionally permitted in the EU, with the condition shown (Annex III) → A fragrance ingredient the EU requires to be named on the label → On an EU positive list: approved as a colorant, preservative or UV filter

HOW IT WORKS

2. TRY YOUR FIRST SCAN (free) — see a real label scored by the live engine before you decide.
3. SCAN ANY INGREDIENT LABEL (Pro) — point the camera at the fine print; reading and scoring both happen on your iPhone.
4. SCAN A BARCODE INSTEAD (Pro) — matched products come from Open Beauty Facts; if a product is missing, Incy sends you to the label scanner.
5. READ EVERY REASON (Pro) — each ingredient, its EU status, its Annex reference and the points it moved.

Ingredient and regulation data is compiled from the European Commission's CosIng database. Product names and barcode matches come from Open Beauty Facts.

PRIVACY

Scans are analyzed on device. The photo, the text Incy reads from it and your profile never leave your iPhone, and scoring needs no internet at all. No account, no sign-up, no email. A barcode lookup is the only feature that reaches the network, and it sends nothing but the barcode.
