You remember the wool scarf she mentioned back in November. You do not remember her shoe size, and you have completely forgotten that you already gave her a candle two years ago.

Dote is a small private notebook for the people you care about. Birthdays, sizes, the things they love, the things they can't eat — kept in one place, ready the moment you need them.

Fourteen days before a birthday, Dote taps you on the shoulder. One tap opens a gift brief: allergies first, then sizes, what they like, what's still on their wishlist, and what you've already given. No repeats, no guessing in the shop.

What you can keep

• Birthdays, anniversaries and dates of your own — the year is optional, since nobody knows every year
• Sizes for shoes, tops, bottoms, rings, hats, gloves, or anything you name yourself, with EU/US/UK/JP/CN reference conversions
• Likes, no-gos and allergies, from "peanut allergy" to "hates surprises"
• A wishlist with links, rough prices, and how badly they want it
• Past gifts, the occasion, and how it landed — including the ones that missed
• Your own sections: coffee order, shirt brand, the bookshop they always walk into

Privacy, first This is a notebook about other people, so it's built to stay shut.

• No account, no sign-up, no email. There is nothing to log in to.
• Your notes live on your device and sync only through your own iCloud. No Dote server holds them.
• Reminders say who and when, never what. "Mia's birthday is coming up" is all the lock screen ever sees; the details wait inside.
• Face ID or your passcode can lock the app, and the app-switcher preview blurs while it's locked.
• Anyone you'd rather not explain can be hidden — out of the list, out of search, out of reminders.
• The home-screen widget shows a countdown and a few small counts. Names are off by default, and what you wrote never appears on it at all.

Free and paid, plainly The free version keeps up to 3 people. Reminders, the gift brief, the widget, the lock and every field above are all included.

• Export to JSON or CSV, and import a backup you made earlier

Dote Pro is a simple subscription — monthly or yearly, cancel anytime in Settings, and cancelling never deletes anything you saved.
