Most weather apps give you one reading per resort, usually at the base. Nayge forecasts the base, mid-mountain and summit separately, so it can tell you it is raining in the car park while it snows up top.

SHOULD I RIDE?

Every day gets a verdict, not just a temperature. Nayge reads the whole riding day and explains what will actually matter: wind that could put lifts on hold, an afternoon warm-up that turns snow to slush, an overnight refreeze that keeps the hill firm until the sun reaches it.

WHICH MOUNTAIN?

Every resort gets a score, and the map colors each pin by it. Save the mountains you ride and compare them side by side across the next 11 days.

Nayge estimates the snow surface, not just the snowfall total: powder, soft pack, hard pack, firm, icy, corn, slush or wet snow, tracked through each day's melting and refreezing. 20 cm that fell four days ago and baked in the sun is not the same as 20 cm that fell this morning.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Recommendations built around when and how hard you plan to ride:

ALERTS

Two optional alerts: the night before and the morning of. Each one tells you what the mountain is expected to look like during the day ahead, not what already happened. Nothing is sent unless you set one up.

LIVE CAMERAS

Whakapapa, Mt Buller and Craigieburn cameras appear right on the resort card, with the resort's permission. Where a camera has history, scrub back through the last 24 hours and watch conditions change.

RESORT REPORTS

Official reports from Whakapapa, Mt Buller and Craigieburn appear under the resort's own name and in their own words, kept separate from Nayge's estimates. You always know what came from the mountain and what came from Nayge.
