TwizyPowerBox

A client for the PowerBox tuning dongle: live telemetry, per-cell battery detail, driving profiles, regeneration levels and the full tuning menu.

TwizyPowerBox is a client for the PowerBox tuning dongle that plugs into the OBD port of a Renault Twizy. The hardware is sold separately and is required — without it, the app has nothing to talk to.

TESTED CONFIGURATION The app has been tested with PowerBox BT V1.0 running firmware v1.66.

LIVE DATA Motor speed and torque, current, energy used, state of charge and state of health, motor and battery temperature. Readings expire when the box stops sending them instead of lingering on screen, so what you see is what the car said a moment ago, not a number left over from earlier.

THE BATTERY IN DETAIL All fourteen cell voltages, seven bank temperatures and the pack voltage — plus the spread between the strongest and weakest cell, which says more about the state of the pack than any single figure.

HOW IT DRIVES Switch between ECO, Normal and Sport, or leave it to the PowerBox’s Auto mode, which steps the profile down as the motor warms and back up as it cools. Turn regeneration on and off. Set how much of it you get when you lift off and when you use the brake.

TUNING Apply any level the box offers — Light, Medium, Max Power, the T80 to T45 conversion, or back to the factory setting. The app follows the box through the whole procedure, shows its progress while it works, and tells you when to cycle the ignition.

Tuning reprograms the car's controller and is performed at your own risk. Park the car, leave the ignition on, and leave the PowerBox plugged in until it finishes.

CONSOLE Every line the box sends and every command the app sends, with filters, single-shot queries and a field for raw bytes. The whole session exports as a text file.

PRIVACY Nothing is collected and nothing leaves your phone. The app talks to the dongle over Bluetooth and to nothing else. It remembers only which box to reconnect to, any names you give your boxes, and whether to keep the screen awake.
