Desilingo: Indian Languages

Desilingo is a friendly, Duolingo-style app that helps kids (and curious adults) learn Indian languages through short lessons, picture games, and the alphabet — one tap at a time.

Pick your language on first launch — Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, or Tamil — and Desilingo shapes everything around it: greetings, family words, numbers, colors, food, days of the week, common verbs and useful everyday phrases. Switch any time from the pill at the top of the home screen; progress in each language is tracked separately.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Bite-sized lessons Units built from "Hello" and "Thank you" up to ordering food, asking directions, and daily-routine review. Each lesson is a few exercises, a few minutes long — tap to translate, tap to listen, drag to match pairs.

The whole alphabet, with sound Every vowel and consonant, with an example word for each letter, then a quiz to test yourself.

Word Scan Point your camera at an English word and Desilingo shows the equivalent in your chosen language, with Roman pronunciation underneath. Recognition runs on-device — photos aren't uploaded anywhere.
