AI Satranç: Chess That Learns

Most chess apps ship with a ready-made, unbeatable engine. AI Satranç doesn't. On first launch, the AI's brain is nothing but random numbers. It knows the rules, but it has no idea how to play. Its first moves are genuinely clumsy.

Then it starts to learn. On your device, from your games, right in front of you.

◆ A REAL AI THAT REALLY LEARNS A neural network inspired by AlphaZero, paired with Monte Carlo tree search. Before every move, the AI plays out hundreds of possible continuations in its head. When the game ends, it asks itself: "What did I expect here, and what actually happened?" It corrects its intuition by exactly that difference. The learning runs in real time on your device's GPU. No pre-trained model, no cloud server.

◆ WATCH ITS BRAIN GROW • Learning curves: see its predictions sharpen game after game • Match tests: can the new brain really beat its older self? If it clearly got worse, the learning is rolled back. Progress isn't accepted until it's measured. • Game counters: against you, and against itself • A live evaluation bar above the board

◆ SELF-TRAINING Open the Training tab, tap Start Training and watch the AI play against itself live. After every game it becomes a slightly better opponent. One day it will beat you. The only question is when.

◆ ONE BRAIN, RAISED TOGETHER If you like, your AI doesn't learn alone: its learning merges with players around the world and together you raise a single shared brain. The only thing shared is a mathematical summary of learning. Your games, moves and personal data never leave your device. One tap turns it off.

A small warning: this is not a "strong opponent out of the box" app. The AI starts weak, on purpose. The point is to raise it. Watching how it learns is far more exciting than watching it win.
