Sablefold: Photo & Video Vault

An encrypted on-device vault for photos, Live Photos & videos. Search photo text locally, clear known metadata, redact, and add a purpose watermark before sharing images.

Sablefold is an encrypted, on-device media vault for photos, Live Photos, and videos. No account is required. Media is not automatically uploaded or synced to developer-operated servers, and browsing, playback, organization, and search remain available offline.

ON-DEVICE ENCRYPTION, CONVENIENT UNLOCKING

Media, thumbnails, collection records, folders, tags, notes, and text-search indexes are encrypted and stored on your iPhone.

Use a 6–12 digit access code or optional Face ID or Touch ID. Unlocking, browsing, playback, organization, search, export, deletion, and backup creation do not depend on developer-operated servers.

ORGANIZE AND FIND

Organize private media with folders, tags, notes, favorites, and multiple sorting options. Long-press a photo or video for quick access to favorites, notes, tags, folders, export, and deletion.

Visible text inside photos and the still images of Live Photos is recognized on your iPhone and stored in an encrypted search index. Text recognition supports Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean.

Text search currently does not include video content, people, places, or scene recognition.

HANDLE SENSITIVE INFORMATION BEFORE SHARING

Safe Share creates a new JPEG copy on your device and removes location, EXIF, and other image metadata.

Add opaque redactions, review suggested face areas, and apply a purpose watermark. Always review the final copy before sharing.

For Live Photos, Safe Share uses only the still image and does not include the paired video.

TWO CODES, TWO SEPARATE SPACES

Optionally create a second Ordinary collection with a separate access code.

Each code opens its own independently encrypted local space. Opening one space does not reveal the other space’s media, folders, tags, search index, or backup information.

Optional Face ID or Touch ID can be assigned to open one selected space.

RECENTLY DELETED AND ENCRYPTED BACKUPS

Deleted media remains encrypted in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days. You can restore it or delete it permanently.

Create an encrypted backup protected by a separate backup password and save it to a location you choose. Sablefold cannot recover a lost access code or backup password.

Deleting the app also deletes local vault data that has not been backed up elsewhere.

FREE AND LIFETIME PRO

The free version stores up to 30 media items in each space.

A one-time Lifetime Pro in-app purchase removes the media limit from both spaces. There is no auto-renewing subscription.

Cloud storage is not included. Existing local media is not locked or automatically deleted if purchase status changes.
