ShowMe: ID, Cards & Documents

Asked for a policy number, a postal code, an emergency contact? Open the card, tap Show, and hand over the phone. Only that card can be seen.

Somebody asks for something exact — a postal code, a policy number, the front of an insurance card, an emergency contact. You start scrolling. Notes, Photos, an email from 2023. It takes twenty seconds, and the whole time, somebody is watching your screen.

The problem was never storage. It was showing.

ShowMe keeps that information as private cards. Open one, tap Show, and the app goes full screen on that card alone — in type large enough to read across a counter. Everything else on the phone is out of reach until you unlock it with Face ID, Touch ID, or the ShowMe PIN you set. Then you can hand the phone over.

SHOWING IS NOT SHARING Showing keeps the information on your screen. Sharing makes a second copy, and it is always a separate action you have to confirm. One card is one disclosure boundary: the person holding your phone sees that card, and cannot get to the next one.

THREE LOCKS, EACH FOR A DIFFERENT PERSON App Lock keeps the whole collection behind Face ID, Touch ID, or the ShowMe PIN. A card marked sensitive asks again before it opens, even inside an unlocked app. And Presentation Lock is for the person you handed the phone to — no back, no edit, no share, no swipe to the next card. To leave it, tap the lock, then authenticate.

BUILT TO BE READ Presentation Mode sets the value between the smallest and largest text sizes you choose. Nothing is ever truncated. Turn the phone sideways and it reflows — it does not exit, and it does not show anyone the way out.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT CANNOT DO Presentation Lock is a lock inside the app. It cannot stop iOS gestures unless you turn on Apple's Guided Access, and there is a short guide in Settings for doing exactly that. It cannot stop someone photographing your screen with another camera. And an image of a passport or a licence is a copy, not the document — some places will not accept one.

YOUR CARDS STAY YOURS Card content is stored on your iPhone by default. There is no account, sign-up, email address, advertising, tracking, or analytics. Optional private iCloud sync uses your own iCloud account. Expiry Watch uses optional local notifications whose title and body contain only a count — never a card name or value. The app has no widgets, Live Activities, Siri suggestions, or Spotlight indexing.

FREE, AND WHOLE Everything is free, for as long as you keep the app. No subscription, no in-app purchase, no card limit, nothing held back: unlimited text and image cards, document cards with PDF import and on-device scanning, card scanning, categories and icons, all three locks, Presentation Mode, search, favorites, Recently Deleted, private iCloud sync, Expiry Watch, redaction, and handovers.
