Cold Grit Snap

This is a match-strike game. The goal is simple: before the lantern timer runs out, strike every match on the table and get it into the ashtray.

How to play: the night’s matches are scattered in a messy pile. Grab any stick, snap the red head across the grit to light it, then drag it to the tray as soon as the flame catches. The fire walks the wood toward your fingers. A miss, a burn, or a dead clock costs the watch. You get three chances each night.

There are twelve night watches. Later ones pile on more sticks, a smaller grit patch, and a hungrier flame. The watch is done only when every stick rests in the tray. You can practice, take today’s table, or check your strike record.
