Tessera: Mosaic Block Puzzle

Tessera is a mosaic you put back together, one shard at a time.

A plate arrives broken: rubble in the sockets, gold outlines marking the motifs that were lost. You are dealt three shards of cut stone. Drag one onto the plate. Fill a row, a column or one of the inlaid motifs and it ignites — the tesserae flare, clear, and the chain multiplier climbs.

Shards do not rotate. The tray offers you the orientations instead, so a turn is a decision about where a piece belongs, not a scramble to spin it.

NO DEAD HANDS Every hand is checked before it reaches you. If the three shards cannot all be laid down on your plate, they are not dealt. So when a plate jams it is because of where you put things — never because the game handed you something impossible.

FIFTY PLATES, FIVE HALLS Each hall has its own stone and its own mood, and every plate is laid out fresh: • RESTORE — reach the target score • MOTIF — plates built around the inlaid regions • GILDING — every gilded cell has to be restored • SCARCE — two shards at a time, half the options • GRAND SEAL — a boss plate where only motif ignitions break the seals

A HUNDRED RELICS Rare finds sit embedded in the plates: rosettes, meanders, cracked medallions, guilloche panels. Ignite the group a relic sits in and it goes to your reliquary — a hundred to recover across five rarity tiers.

DRAWN IN CODE Tessera ships no artwork. Every tessera, every relic, every hall palette and the drifting mosaic wall behind the plate is generated as you play, which is why a hundred relics all look different. The sound is synthesised the same way: stone on stone as a shard lands, a rising run as a chain builds.
