Totem Alarm

Stick an NFC tag in another room. Your alarm won't stop until you get up and scan it. No snooze button, no "five more minutes", no going back to bed.

Totem is an alarm clock you cannot switch off from bed.

Stick an NFC tag somewhere you have to physically walk to — the bathroom mirror, the kettle, the front door. When your alarm goes off, the only way to stop it is to get up and hold your phone against that tag.

By the time you've walked across the room, you're awake. That's the whole idea.

NO SNOOZE, NO SHORTCUTS There is no snooze button. There is no "dismiss" button. Closing the app doesn't help either — Totem keeps reminding you until the tag is scanned.

ONE TAG, EVERY ALARM Register a single tag once and it works for every alarm you create. Change it whenever you like from Settings.

LOST YOUR TAG? Emergencies happen. You get two overrides every 30 days, each confirmed with Face ID or your passcode, and you'll be asked to register a replacement tag straight afterwards. Deliberately limited, so it stays an emergency exit rather than a second snooze button.

NO TAG YET? NO PROBLEM You can start using Totem before your tags arrive. Alarms stop with a normal button until you register one, and you can add a tag at any time.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account. No sign-up. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Your alarms, your labels and your tag stay on your phone and are never uploaded.

REQUIREMENTS Totem needs an iPhone with NFC reading (iPhone 7 or later) and an NFC tag or sticker. Blank NDEF-formatted NFC stickers are inexpensive and widely available online.

SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS Totem Pro — auto-renewable monthly subscription. Free trial: 7 days, granted in the app with no purchase required. Price: $2.99 per month, or the equivalent in your local currency.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically each month unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple ID account settings at any time after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
