Learn Languages: by NS Apps

Learn Languages is a free offline app for learning languages by memorizing ready-to-use phrases. Instead of isolated words, you learn complete sentences, work through several stages of active memorization, and return to them using spaced repetition.

The app contains a unified set of 4,500 phrases available in 15 languages:

Choose a language you know and a language you want to learn. The course is divided into six levels — A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 — with 750 phrases at each level.

SIX STAGES OF MEMORIZATION

Each new phrase goes through a structured sequence of exercises:

• Listen and repeat — listen to the full phrase and individual words, then say it aloud; • Connect it to a situation — think of several natural situations in which you could use the phrase; • Fill in the blank — restore the missing word; • Build the phrase — put the words in the correct order; • Reconstruct from cues — restore the phrase from shortened prompts; • Type from memory — write the entire phrase yourself in the language you are learning.

SPACED REPETITION

After you learn a phrase, it automatically moves into your review schedule. The intervals gradually increase: 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, and 30 days — until the phrase is firmly learned.

The system records the result of every review. A correct answer moves the phrase forward, while an error schedules an extra review. If the phrase remains difficult, the app returns it to the learning stage.

In the review section, you can always see:

• what needs to be reviewed now; • which phrases are scheduled; • which reviews are overdue; • which phrases have already been mastered.

LISTEN AND SPEAK

Phrases can be played using iOS system text-to-speech. During the first exercise, you can also tap individual words and symbols to hear them separately.

REVIEW WIDGET

Add the Learn Languages widget to see learned phrases more often throughout the day. Choose which review intervals to display and how often the phrases change.
