Paceo is a focused reading app built around one idea: words should come to you, at a pace you choose, without your eyes ever having to move.

How it works

Paceo presents your text one word at a time, centered on a single stable focus point. Instead of scanning left to right, your eyes stay still while the words arrive. It's a simple shift that many readers find easier to sustain, especially on a phone screen.

You're always in control of how fast that happens. Set your words-per-minute and choose between two reading rhythms — Natural, which gives extra time to punctuation and longer words, or Steady, which keeps every word on screen for the same length of time.

Pause without losing your place

Reading this way can feel fast, so Paceo includes Context Pause: stop at any moment and see your current word back in the sentence it came from, with the text just before and after it. Rewind or step forward fifteen words at a time, or scrub through the page with a drag, then pick up exactly where you left off.

Longer texts are broken into chapters you can jump between from a simple list, so you're never stuck scrolling to find your spot.

Make it yours

Reader Appearance puts the details in your hands: choose a serif or sans typeface, adjust the text size, pick a focus color, and select a background — from a bright light theme to a true black OLED theme for reading in the dark. A focus guide line can be turned on or off depending on what helps you concentrate.

Your library, your text

Bring your own reading into Paceo. Paste an article, a note, or an essay directly into the app, or import a plain text (.txt) file. Everything you add lives in your personal library, where Paceo keeps track of your progress and lets you pick up right where you stopped.

Paceo keeps a private record of your reading activity — time spent, words read, and your pace over time — along with an optional daily reading goal, so you can see your habit build session by session.

Private by design

Paceo works entirely on your device. There's no account to create, no sign-in, and no internet connection required. Your library and reading history stay on your phone — nothing is collected, tracked, or shared, and there are no ads.
