OCR accepts a full sidewall code (about 10–16 characters, includes a letter, last 4 = week/year). If OCR fails, enter the code manually. Short or date-only codes work in manual mode.

AGE VERDICT • OK (green) — under 6 years • Watch (amber) — 6 to under 10 years • Replace (red) — 10 years or older

Age is a common reason to replace a tyre even when the tread still looks fine.
