NextShelf is a warm, private reading tracker for iPhone and iPad. Log books, track sessions, plan your reading year, with no accounts, no ads, and none of your data on our servers.

Built by one person who wanted a reading app that did not want their email address, did not shame them with streak-in-danger notifications, and did not turn every book they read into training data. If that sounds like your kind of reading app too, welcome.

WHAT IS INSIDE

YOUR WHOLE LIBRARY Add books manually, scan an ISBN, or import from Goodreads and StoryGraph in seconds. Rich metadata: genre, series, format, physical or digital.

READING SESSIONS Tap Start when you sit down with a book. See exactly how you spend your reading time. Live Activity keeps the session on your Lock Screen so you never lose track.

READING CALENDAR A month view of every day you read, with the cover of what you were reading. Right on your Home Screen as a widget.

GOALS THAT STICK Set a yearly books target. Set daily pages or minutes. Set per-book minute goals. Streaks keep you honest, kindly, not aggressively.

YEAR PLANNER Drag books between months. Move your TBR from wishlist to done with an actual plan behind it.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything lives on your device. Sync between your own iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud, never through our servers, because we do not have any. No user accounts. No analytics. No tracking pixels. No ads.

WIDGETS Currently Reading: up to 4 active books with progress, streak, and this year goal. Reading Calendar: see what you read every day of the month, at a glance.

IMPORT AND BACKUP Move your library in from Goodreads or StoryGraph. Export at any time as JSON or CSV. Your data, portable forever.

NEXTSHELF PRO Support the app and unlock a few power features: Year Planner, Year Heatmap, Live Activity for reading sessions, automatic backup history, and more coming. Rs 999 per year, with a free 7-day trial.
