BibleDesk is a free Bible reader built for people who read Scripture daily — and for the moments when the connection is gone, the service has started, and you need the right verse now.

Eighteen translations across sixteen languages are available. The World English Bible and the King James Version are installed with the app; every other translation downloads once from Settings and then stays on your device. Reading, searching, notes and highlights all work with no connection at all, and nothing you read or write ever leaves your device.

READ IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE English, Spanish, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Chinese, Portuguese, French, Russian, Arabic, German, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Korean and Swahili. Book names, chapters and verses all follow the language you choose. Tap any verse to see it in another language without leaving the passage you are reading.

LEARN Thirty-six original illustrated readings in five collections — Scripture for the season you are in, missionaries and Christian pioneers, the journeys of the apostles, Sunday school stories, and simple daily practices. One hundred and eight short chapters, with a contents list and a chapter menu. A verse for each day sits at the top of the page in your chosen translation, one tap from its full passage. Readings are written in English; Scripture always follows the translation you select.

DAILY VERSE WIDGETS Put the day's verse on your Home Screen or Lock Screen in small, medium, large or rectangular sizes, with a Dawn, Meadow or Midnight landscape. The widget speaks the translation you chose and keeps rotating offline.

SEARCH THAT RESPECTS THE SCRIPT Most Bible apps tokenise text as if every language were English. BibleDesk does not. Arabic matches whether or not you type the diacritics. Chinese and Korean match inside words. Indic scripts match whole words instead of consonant fragments.

SERVICE MODE A calm, dimmable view made for church. Keep one running sermon note open, capture the verses being preached with a single tap, and jump anywhere in Scripture without losing your place or your note.
