Five minutes a translation quiz. It targets the words you keep forgetting, and you can challenge friends on exactly the same ones. Six languages, free, no subscription.

Voc'iz is an app for learning and revising vocabulary across a range of topics in the following languages: French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian and German.

Voc'iz lets you discover and learn new words, and makes sure you remember the ones you are supposed to know already. You practise at your own rhythm, because you choose the shape of the quiz: an easy round with four translations to pick between, a hard one you answer by typing the word out yourself, or anything in between. And for polyglots, a single quiz can test several languages at once.

You can review the vocabulary at any moment, in a page of its own, and build your own lists to focus on exactly what you need, before an exam, for example. That is also where you follow your progress across a corpus of more than 7,000 words, each one carrying a level from 0 to 5.

That is solitary work, and demanding by design, the studious way to fix vocabulary in memory rather than sit through hours of slow lessons. But it doesn't have to be solitary: challenge a friend or a whole group to one identical set of words, play it separately, and compare afterwards.

A quiz is 10 to 20 words and takes normally less than five minutes, but that depends on you!
