IT LISTENS FOR THE SOUND, NOT JUST THE WORD Most apps that "listen" are running ordinary word recognition, which will happily accept "thock" for "sock". It is built to find real words in messy audio, which is exactly the wrong instinct for articulation practice. SpeechTeach also runs a phoneme model, right on your device, that looks for the target sound in the right place in the word. Your child hears encouragement either way. You get the honest picture.

HEAR THE IMPROVEMENT This is the part parents talk about. SpeechTeach keeps your child's very first attempt at each word, and puts it next to their most recent one, with two play buttons. You don't read a percentage and hope. You press play twice and hear the change yourself.
