Otherword is mystery fiction you can investigate.

Read beautifully written cases at your own pace. When a detail feels wrong, follow it through witness statements, letters, maps, records and photographs. A companion inside each investigation helps you think through what you have seen without replacing the pleasure of solving it yourself.

Every case is built for fair play. The answer is present before the reveal. Clues arrive in a deliberate order, red herrings belong to the world of the story, and the case continues whether you speak to the companion or simply keep reading.

The guided mini case is free. An Otherword membership unlocks every investigation currently in the Library, the complete back catalogue and new cases added each month.

The Library currently includes a guided mini case and twenty complete investigations across different places and periods. Cases and their files remain available offline once installed. Authored Tips work on-device; optional open-ended companion conversation uses the online service only with the reader's permission and falls back to authored guidance when it is not available.

Otherword contains fictional crimes and mature themes, but does not rely on gore or shock. There are no advertisements, no Otherword account requirement and no social feed.
