PLANTINGS Log flowers, food and herbs. Record every stage — sown, germinated, potted on, hardened off, planted out, first bloom, first harvest — with a date you set yourself. Nothing has to be logged on the day it happened, so you can catch up in the evening or enter an old season from memory over the winter.

SEED INVENTORY Photograph packet fronts and backs so you have the spacing and depth without carrying the packet outside. Record where seed came from, the year it was packed, and the germination you actually saw — not what the packet claimed. Flag packets to restock so you stop buying varieties already in the drawer. Scan a packet's barcode or QR code and the app recognises it the next time you scan it.

BEDS AND ROTATION Assign plantings to beds and see what grew where, year by year. Several seasons at once is what turns a record into a rotation plan.

PLANT HISTORY Every season you've grown a plant, side by side. Which variety yielded most, how long it typically takes to germinate in your garden, how long to first harvest. Your numbers, not a seed company's estimate.

COMPARE SEASONS Two years next to each other — what you grew, when you sowed, when you harvested, how much came in, and what you stopped growing.
