RoomScope: Private Check

Review unfamiliar spaces with focused, on-device privacy checks.

RoomScope combines local network scanning, visual inspection tools, nearby Bluetooth observations, magnetic-field changes, and guided room checks. Every tool waits for you to start it and requests permission only when needed.

LOCAL NETWORK SCAN

Review devices reachable on the Wi-Fi or local network you choose to scan. RoomScope examines limited information such as device names, announced services, manufacturer details, and supported network responses.

Results are organized as identified cameras, possible cameras, other devices, or unidentified devices. Open a result to review its evidence, conflicting information, limitations, and suggested next steps.

The app scans only the current local network. It does not scan public internet addresses, attempt passwords, bypass authentication, or play video streams.

VISUAL CHECKS

Use the rear camera and optional flashlight to inspect small reflections from different angles. In a safely darkened room, use the enhanced preview to review unusual or steady light points.

Glass, mirrors, polished metal, LEDs, remote controls, and ordinary electronics can create similar results. A marked reflection or light point is a clue for manual review, not proof of a hidden camera.

BLUETOOTH AND MAGNETIC CHECKS

Review nearby Bluetooth Low Energy broadcasts and relative signal trends without pairing with or connecting to devices. Signal strength is not presented as a precise distance or direction.

Compare magnetic-field changes with a starting reference. Speakers, magnets, charging cables, appliances, wiring, and metal objects can affect readings. Bluetooth and magnetic observations cannot identify a camera by themselves.

GUIDED ROOM CHECK

Follow a repeatable checklist for hotel bedrooms, bathrooms, changing rooms, offices, or custom spaces. Review suggested locations, open individual tools when useful, and keep track of completed or skipped steps.

LOCAL HISTORY AND REPORTS

Save network scan results and aggregate Bluetooth summaries on your iPhone. Review or delete saved checks at any time.

Generate a PDF report from a saved network scan and share it only when you choose. Local IP addresses are masked by default.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

Checks are performed on your iPhone. RoomScope does not upload camera frames, local network results, Bluetooth identifiers, signal samples, raw magnetic readings, or saved reports.

Camera frames are processed live and are not automatically saved. Information leaves the app only when you explicitly export a report through the system share sheet.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

Phone-based checks can miss devices and may flag ordinary electronics. Devices can be offline, isolated, disguised, or outside the capabilities of a phone-based check.

Results are supporting clues, not proof that a hidden camera is present or absent. RoomScope does not replace a professional security inspection or law-enforcement assessment.
