HOW IT WORKS

A star rating asks you to score a film against nothing at all. Is this a four, or a four and a half? Compared to what?

Reelist asks the only question anyone can actually answer: which of these two did you like more? Tap roughly how you felt, answer up to ten head to head comparisons, and your film takes its place in the list. Twelve titles or twelve hundred, the work of adding one more does not grow.

SELECT FEATURES

• Rank any film in ten comparisons at most, however long your list gets • Log what you watched, when you watched it, and a note on what you thought • Scores that follow the list, so the number can never disagree with the order • Drag a title into place yourself whenever the comparisons got it wrong • Ties and skips both count as answers, and a tied pair is never asked again • Like and comment on what the people you follow are logging • Check your Taste Match with anyone you follow, worked out from the films you have both ranked • Find people you already know by checking your contacts, which is optional and off until you turn it on • Export your whole ranking to a CSV, and delete your account in one step from inside the app

WHAT REELIST DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO

No aggregate critic scores sitting next to your own, because anchoring you to somebody else's number is exactly the thing this app exists to replace. No advertising and no trackers. We measure how the app is used, with one analytics provider that works only for us, and how the app performs, with EAS Observe from Expo, who build and update the app: launch time, screen render time, and errors. Nothing here follows you anywhere else.
