DACmote

AirPlay stops at 16 bit and 44.1 kHz. DACmote plays at full resolution: one device at your USB DAC or converter, the other in your hand. No server, no tracking.

Nothing in the path but your DAC. One device plays Apple Music directly through your USB DAC, a second one controls it from the couch. AirPlay 2 stops at 16 bit and 44.1 kHz — DACmote leaves the stream alone, so your DAC receives exactly what Apple Music delivers to the player device: Lossless, or Hi-Res Lossless all the way up to 24 bit and 192 kHz. Only the controls travel over your network, never the audio. Instead of a DAC, any USB audio device works, including a converter to coaxial or optical feeding the DAC in your amplifier.

HOW IT WORKS Start player mode on the device connected to your DAC. Connect from the second device and control playback remotely: search, playlists and queue. You can also pick music right on the player device.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No subscription, no tracking, no ads. DACmote has no backend and no account and collects nothing, because there is nowhere to send it. The two devices talk to each other directly, exclusively on your local network.

REQUIREMENTS

• Apple Music subscription
• iPhone or iPad running iOS 26; for remote control, a second device on the same Wi-Fi network
• For the hi-fi use case: a USB audio device on the player device, such as a USB DAC or a converter to coaxial/optical (optional)
