Arpentix — Heritage

History is right there, all around you.

Arpentix reveals the monuments, castles, churches and memorials just a few steps away — with their story and an audio guide.

Wherever you are, Arpentix draws on Wikipedia to tell you what is around you. And in France, coverage goes deepest: over 300,000 places, from cathedrals to village wash-houses, documented by the Ministry of Culture.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND

• The story behind each place, drawn from the French Ministry of Culture's Mérimée database, Wikipedia and the national heritage inventory
• A timeline from the site's founding to the present day
• An audio guide that starts as you approach
• A travel journal of your visits, with your photos — kept on your phone
• A souvenir of your day: your route, the places you passed through and your photos, brought together in one shareable image

SHARE WHAT YOU FIND Your journal can become a page to share, through a link you can revoke at any time. You choose what is visible; exact dates and precise locations never appear.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN Your location is used to show nearby places — it is never sent to our servers. Your photos stay on your device. No ads, no data resale.

Available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Free, no in-app purchases.
