CONVERSATIONS THAT KEEP UP See when someone is typing, when they were last around, and when your message was delivered and read — delivery reported by their device rather than guessed at, so the mark means what it says. Messages arrive the moment they are sent.

REPLY THE WAY YOU MEAN IT Swipe a message to reply to it. Start a thread when a topic deserves its own space, or quote a single line inline when it does not. React with any emoji.

MAKE IT YOURS Read your chats as bubbles or as a clean list, pick the colour of your own messages, and set a background from a palette, a gradient or your own photo. Your choices are yours alone — they change nothing for the people you talk to.

MORE THAN TEXT Send photos, files and voice clips. Links unfurl into a card so you can see where they lead before you tap.

VOICE AND VIDEO CALLS Call the people you chat with, one to one, from the conversation or from the Calls tab. Mute, switch to speaker or turn your camera off without leaving the call, and shrink it into a corner to carry on reading while you talk. Calls go straight between the two devices whenever the network allows and are encrypted in transit, and Jarvel never records or transcribes them. Your call log remembers who you spoke to and for how long, and rings them back in a tap.

GROUPS THAT STAY ORGANISED Name a group, give it a picture, and share it with as many people as you need. Make someone else an admin, add people by username or email, and invite anyone who is not on Jarvel yet.

FIND IT AGAIN Search inside a conversation or across every one of them — including the encrypted ones. A server cannot match text it cannot read, so your phone keeps its own index as messages arrive and searches that instead. Archive the chats you are done with; they come back on their own when someone writes again.

EVERYTHING YOU SENT Photos, videos and documents from a conversation, each in their own tab. Switch on saving for a chat and its photos land in your camera roll as you read it.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Conversations encrypt themselves once everyone in them has a device, and the lock in the header tells you when. Compare device codes with the other person, in the room or over a call, and you have checked for yourself that nobody sits between you.
