Race Timer - MTB Stopwatch

INITIAL RELEASE

Race a mate down a bit of trail you made up that afternoon.

One of you stands at the top and starts a timer. The other stands at the bottom and stops it. The server works out the difference, so both phones agree on the time even though their clocks do not.

HOW IT WORKS

Start a room and read the six character code out. Everyone else types it in. Add riders by name, by number, or both. Hit START as somebody drops in, and whoever is at the bottom hits STOP as they cross the line. Either phone, either order.

BUILT FOR TRAILS WITH NO SIGNAL

The moment you need the handoff is usually the moment neither phone has bars, so none of this needs a connection. Times are captured on the phone and go up on their own once signal comes back. There is a screen for stopping a rider with no connection at all, where you hit the slab first and say who it was afterwards, and a mode for timing a whole session with no server involved that uploads later.

Two phones can also sync to each other over the radio. Count each other in, both hit the mark, and from then on your times agree even if neither phone can reach anything.

HONEST ABOUT ACCURACY

Two people with two thumbs are good to about a tenth of a second, so a tenth is all it shows. Every phone measures how far its clock is from the server and corrects for it before recording anything. Three seconds of clock drift on a two minute run just reads as a bad run, and nobody would ever catch it.

RESULTS

A leaderboard of everyone's best time. Share a picture of it for the group chat, or export the lot as a spreadsheet. Any run can be corrected or binned if a thumb slipped, and the app flags the ones that look wrong.

NO ACCOUNTS

Nothing to sign up for and nothing to fill in. No adverts, no tracking, and the app never asks where you are. A room and its times are deleted a week after the last run, so export anything you want to keep.
