Ikidoki: Places to Go Later

The restaurant you meant to try. The show closing soon. Save it with the share button, and Ikidoki puts the reason to go now right at the front of the list.

Saving takes one tap on the share button. The name, the address, the dates, the photos: the app reads them and tidies them up. Then, when the timing is right, the app reminds you.

■ Share once, and it is already organized Restaurant listings, web pages, map apps, screenshots. Share from anywhere and Ikidoki pulls out the name, address, dates, price and photos, then lays them out on a confirmation screen. You choose which photo becomes the cover. ■ Look back the way you like On days when a photo jogs your memory, use the image view. When the list grows, switch to the compact list. The same saved places, seen the way you feel that day. You can also filter to places only or events only, and sort by distance or by how soon something ends.

■ Tap the address to open the map Tap the address of a saved place and your map app opens it. Fewer steps between deciding to go and walking out the door.

■ Been there? Mark it visited Places you have visited move to the Visited tab. They drop out of your suggestions and your list, so only what is still ahead remains. The record stays, so you can find that one place again months later.

Events that have finished move quietly to Ended in the same tab. Mark them visited or delete them, and your list never fills up with things that are over.

■ Widgets remind you without opening the app Put one on your Home Screen and this week's places catch your eye without opening anything. Three sizes, small, medium and large, plus the Lock Screen.

There is one more: a photo widget. It shows a single full-screen photo from your saved places, changing as the hours pass. A different place each time you glance at your Home Screen, so you remember that you wanted to go there without opening the list.
