THE SWEEP First the Wi-Fi: every device on the network gets probed, and anything that behaves like a camera gets flagged. You can open a suspect's own page right from the report to see what it calls itself. Then Bluetooth: trackers, beacons, and gadgets that have no reason to be in a rented bedroom. Last comes the part most apps skip because it can't be faked, a guided check of the eight places cameras actually hide. Smoke detector. Alarm clock. That USB charger charging nothing.

Your torch becomes a lens-glint scanner. Your camera becomes an infrared scope, because night-vision cameras flood the room with light your eyes can't see. Point a TV remote at it and press any button. See the flash? That's the idea.

THE HONEST PART Every report also lists what it could not check. A camera that records to a memory card and never joins a network is invisible to every phone app, ours included. That's exactly why the physical checklist exists. We would rather tell you the limits than sell you certainty nobody has.
