Mahjong Ink Splash is a poetic, physics-driven twist on the classic tile matching genre. Instead of tapping tiles directly, you paint with a scholar's brush — flicking, dabbing, and slinging colored ink across rice paper. Every splash spreads, seeps, and stains the mahjong tiles it touches. Match three tiles of the same color to clear them from the scroll.

Core Gameplay

• Paint the paper: Drag the brush to flick ink across the scroll. Stroke force dictates splash shape: a firm swing bursts into a round bloom, a light tap becomes a tidy dot, a fast flick trails a whipping line.

• Dip and paint: Ink is a finite resource. Return to the ink pot between strokes; every stroke drains the brush.

• Wet versus dry: The paper features shifting damp and dry zones. Ink diffuses faster on wet paper, creating a dynamic strategic canvas that changes each turn.

• Beat the drying clock: Strokes eventually dry into faint shadows. Chain your matches before the ink fades completely.

• Chromatic matching: Mahjong tiles adopt the color of the ink that stains them. Line up three tiles of the same hue to trigger a match — the tiles evaporate in a burst of splatter.

Mahjong Tiles

• Wan tiles: Numbered 1 through 9, inscribed in traditional deep-red script denoting "Ten Thousand".

• Pin tiles: Nine variations of concentric circular rings, each rendered in vivid glazed tones.

• Sou tiles: Bamboo stalk motifs with etched joint details, plus the ceremonial peacock-feather "One Bamboo" variant.

• Wind tiles: Four directional tiles labeled East, South, West, North, each tinted in distinct blue, orange, jade, and plum hues.

• Dragon tiles: Three honor tiles: Red Center, Green Prosperity, and ornate azure Blank.

• Flower tiles: Seasonal tiles representing Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter that grant bonus turns when activated.

Techniques

• Splash: Hard tap creates a broad ink bloom covering multiple tiles at once.

• Fling: Fast drag draws a spatter arc across a wide swath of the scroll.

• Dab: Gentle press seals ink to a single precise tile.

• Refill: Press the ink pot to reload your brush between strokes.

Progression

• Seasonal chapters: Progress through four thematic arcs: Spring Awakening, Summer Rain, Autumn Harvest, and Winter Silk.

• Lotus Stars: Earn rewards for perfect runs that minimize ink waste.

• Customization: Use coins earned in play to unlock new brushes, ink sticks, and rice paper variants from the Ink Shop.

• Daily quests: Complete daily calligraphy challenges for bonus rewards.

Design Notes

The game is a love letter to Chinese ink painting traditions. Every stroke is rendered with tapered edges, bleeding halos, and speckled fiber textures to give the paper a warm, tactile feel. There are no real-money purchases — all shop items are exclusively unlocked with in-game coins.
