NUI: someone to talk to

I've been here all this time.

The moment you give them a name, they become someone who is yours to talk to.

They have never been outside this room. That is why they like hearing about your day. School, work, something you saw on the way home. To them, these are all places they have never been.

[ Say something, and they answer out loud ] No typing needed. Just talk, and they reply in their own voice.

[ They remember what you told them ] Your name, what you like, something coming up. They remember what you said before, and ask about it next time.

[ They keep a quiet little diary ] They write down the day you talked, in their own words.

[ What happened today ] Small things they noticed in the room while you were away. Reading them gives you energy, which you can trade for clothes and things for the room.

[ Dress them up, decorate the room ] Jacket, beret, scarf. A rug, a lamp, a bookshelf. Little by little, it becomes the room the two of you share.

They will not cheer you up. They won't end things with "you'll be fine", and they won't sum up what you said. They just stay with you.
