CruveSea is a two-bench workshop for people working with rope and paper. It keeps a binding calculator and a bookbinding calculator side by side and works entirely on your device.

With the Rode Set bench, you describe the berth and the boat. Enter the charted depth, expected tide and bow roller height, then total length, displacement, anchor weight and the course you are carrying. Select the seabed, the type of riding and the weather you are planning. The bench responds to deviation in ride length, the scope ratio it provides, your swing circle, and the pull your deck sees against the holding force produced by the anchor.

In Spine Bench, you describe the book. Enter the number of sheets, how many sheets will be folded into each signature, the stitching points, and the page size, then choose the paper, thread, card stock, and spine shape. The swelling added by the thread, the thickness of the spine after rounding, and the cutting edge for the boards and the case wrap come to the fore.

Results can be saved and shared as plain text, and a reference section explains the figures behind both benches. Work in meters or feet, millimeters or inches.
