Most speaking apps let you talk. This one remembers: every mistake and expression comes back on the forgetting curve, exactly when you are about to lose it.

Most English speaking apps forget you the moment you close them. You have the same conversation, make the same mistake, and never find out whether you are getting better.

Recall is built on two ideas that actually decide whether practice sticks.

THE FORGETTING CURVE

Every word you meet and every mistake you make is scheduled on a spaced-repetition curve. When something is about to slip out of memory, it comes back — woven into the first few minutes of your next conversation, not drilled as flashcards.

Crucially, review is scheduled on what you can PRODUCE, not on what you have merely heard. Recognising a phrase and being able to say it under pressure are different skills, and only one of them matters when you are speaking.

One number tells you whether any of it is working: the share of due items you could still produce on your own. If your speed is climbing while that number falls, you are forgetting faster than you are learning — and nothing else on the screen would have told you.

THE FEYNMAN TECHNIQUE

In every session your coach stops role-playing and becomes someone who knows nothing about your topic. You explain it to them.

That is where the gaps surface. When you slip back into your first language, reach for a vague filler word, or stall and abandon the point, it gets logged — along with the phrasing you were given. Those expressions go straight into your review queue.

Talking your way around a word you do not have is a skill, not a failure, so the app tracks that separately and tells you when you did it.

WHAT ELSE IT DOES

• Corrects by recasting, never by interrupting. Explicit feedback waits for the debrief. • Builds a multi-week plan from your goal and your actual weak spots. • Advances a phase only when the evidence supports it — errors stop recurring AND the numbers hold. Recall connects to Google Gemini or OpenAI using your own API key. There is no subscription and no markup — usage bills to your own account, typically a few cents per session. Your key stays in your device's Keychain and is never stored on our servers.
