zday: Private Voice Diary

The diary for people who don't post. Talk through your day in two minutes — every word transcribed and understood on your iPhone, not on a server. No sign-up, ever.

Some people process their day by talking, not by typing — and definitely not by posting. zday is the diary for them.

Open the app, tap once, and talk for one to three minutes. zday transcribes what you said, tags the mood and topics, and files it into a searchable timeline — so months from now you can find the day you talked about that job, that fight, that decision. No blank page. No typing. No audience.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT • Talk, don't type. Speaking is faster and kinder than writing, especially at 11pm. • Audio-first. The default is your voice — no camera, no watching yourself. Video is optional, and when you turn it on the preview stays hidden, so you're not performing. • Understood, not just stored. Every entry gets a mood and topic tags you can search and chart over time. • Gentle by design. A calendar heat map and "on this day last week" — never streaks, guilt, or red badges.

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE, NOT BY POLICY • No account. No sign-up. No server of ours. There is nothing to log into, and we hold nothing to breach. • Transcription and analysis run entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us — we operate no backend to send it to. • iCloud Sync is off by default. Leave it off and your diary never leaves this iPhone. Turn it on and it syncs between your own devices through your own private iCloud — your Apple Account, readable by you alone, still no server of ours. • Face ID or passcode lock, non-identifying thumbnails, and one-tap delete. • Full export, free and forever — your entries are yours to take with you.

HONEST ABOUT THE TECH • Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech engine and needs a one-time language download the first time you record. After that it works offline. • Written entry summaries use Apple Intelligence and need a supported iPhone. On other devices you still get transcription, mood, topic tags, search, and charts — the diary works fully; you just won't see the generated one-line summary. • English is verified at launch (US, UK, Australia, Canada). More languages are on the way.

WHO IT'S FOR The lurkers. The 11pm over-thinkers. People in therapy who were told to journal and never could. Anyone who has plenty to say and no interest in saying it to a crowd.

ZDAY PLUS — OPTIONAL, NEVER REQUIRED The diary itself is free: recording, transcription, mood and topic tags, search, charts, and full export are not gated and never will be. zday Plus adds Ask (put a question to your own entries), weekly and monthly recaps, deeper patterns, premium themes, and iCloud Sync across your devices. Monthly, annual, or a one-time lifetime purchase. If Plus lapses, everything you already recorded stays yours, readable and exportable.
