Let's create stories together
One story, everyone on their own phone. Capy narrates and asks what happens next — whoever holds the pen decides. Ten languages, read-aloud and word lookup built in.
Write a story together, one turn at a time.
One person starts it from the app. Everyone else joins with a four-character code, on a phone or in a browser — no accounts, no sign-ups, no email address. Capy narrates a passage, asks what happens next, and whoever holds the pen decides. Nobody reads ahead. Nobody waits alone.
HOW A STORY HAPPENS
Set the scene. Pick a genre or three, a language, and how grown-up the writing should be. Add characters if you have them, or leave it all blank and see what Capy invents.
Share the code. Four characters, read across the table or sent to the other side of the world.
Take turns. Capy writes a passage and asks a question. The host hands the pen to whoever answers it, and the story turns on what they choose.
MADE FOR READING TOGETHER
• Ten languages, and the story's language is separate from the buttons. Read a Japanese story with English menus, or the other way round.
• Read aloud in a natural voice — for the long drive, the shared room, or a language you follow better by ear than by eye.
• Tap any word you don't know. The explanation comes back in your own language, written for the sense the story is using rather than a dictionary's first guess.
• Pitched to the reader, from new-to-the-language up to college level. The narrator writes to that band and checks itself.
• Branch the story when you can't agree what happens next. Both halves carry on from the same passages.
• Keep what you make. A saved story follows you to every device, to re-read, hear aloud, or carry on another day.
WHO IT'S FOR
Friends who would rather build something than scroll. Classrooms working on character, structure and voice. Writing groups and book clubs. Long car journeys. A family passing one story around the table, or across three time zones. Anyone who would rather find out what happens next together than alone.
ABOUT TWISTS
One twist writes one passage. Every library starts with 100, and packs are there if you run out. Twists never expire, and there is no subscription.
A NOTE ON THE NARRATOR
Stories are written by a language model from what you choose. We instruct it to write for the reading level you set and to keep within the bounds of a good adventure novel — no graphic violence, no sexual content, no explicit language — but no such system is perfect. If a younger reader is playing, an adult nearby is still the best setting.
