Features & Capabilities

Pick a photo — date, place, moon and weather fill themselves in. Solunar times are calculated on your iPhone, so they work with no signal. One payment, no subscription.

Pick a photo. The date, the place, the moon and the weather are already filled in.

Baitlog is a fishing journal for people who want the record without the paperwork. Choose a catch photo and the app reads the time and location from it, works out the moon phase and tide range, and pulls the weather for that spot. The photos sitting in your camera roll turn into a fishing history.

■ A log that fills itself in • Date and location come from the photo’s EXIF data • Tide range (spring, mid, neap) is calculated from the moon • Weather and temperature for that place and day • Species, size and lure color are optional — save it empty and add them later

■ Solunar times, calculated on your iPhone • Major periods: the Moon overhead and underfoot, worked out for your longitude • Minor periods: around moonrise and moonset • Sunrise and sunset, and where dawn and dusk overlap a solunar period • These are solunar times, not a tide table. For water levels, check a local tide chart

■ A calendar you can plan from • A month at a glance: tide range, moon phase and the days you caught something • The one day each week where dawn or dusk lines up with a solunar period is marked • Tap a day for the moon, the sun and the feeding windows

■ Notifications that stay quiet • One heads-up the evening before the best day of the week • Not every day. A notification you switch off is a feature that stops working

■ Your own patterns • Catches by tide range, by lure color, by month • Every chart shows the number of records behind it. Three catches is not a trend, and the app says so

■ It all works with no signal • Moon, tides and sun are calculated on the device — offshore, off the grid, in a canyon • Only the weather lookup needs a connection, and it sends your position rounded to about 1 km • Nothing else leaves your iPhone. There is no account, no feed, no one else’s fish

■ Take it with you • Records and photos export to a single backup file for iCloud Drive or a computer • Restoring adds to what you have — nothing is erased and nothing lands twice • CSV export for spreadsheets

■ One payment • Free for your first 30 records. Calendar, solunar times, notifications, insights and export are all included • Unlock unlimited records with a single purchase. No subscription, no ads • No servers on our side, so there is nothing to shut down and nothing to keep paying for

iPhone only, iOS 18 or later. Sizes show in inches or centimeters and temperatures in °F or °C, following your region.
