BEING STRAIGHT WITH YOU An iPhone microphone cannot hear below about 30 dB. A silent room reading 30 is the floor of the instrument, not a fault, and we say so in the app instead of letting you think it is broken. Sonark implements the characteristics of IEC 61672-1 but is not a certified Class 1 or Class 2 meter — no phone app is.
