Build your own vocabulary in any language pair. Add words by typing, by photo, or by describing a situation. Translation, audio and review timing are handled for you.

Get Word is a vocabulary app where you make the study material yourself.

Write down the words and sentences you want to be able to say, and the app prepares the translation and the pronunciation for them. Or describe a situation you are heading into to the AI chat, a doctor's appointment, a job interview, a trip next month, and it suggests around ten words and phrases at your level, and you keep the ones you want. Whatever you keep goes straight into your study.

From there the app takes over: each word comes back just before you would forget it.

Works for any language pair, pick the language you know and the language you want to learn.

WORDS YOU CHOOSE, NOT A FIXED COURSE Type your own words and phrases, or paste a whole batch at once. You can also start from a prepared list and change it to fit. Get Word prepares translations and pronunciation audio, so a list is ready to study rather than half-finished.

NOT SURE WHAT TO LEARN? ASK Tell the chat about the situation ahead of you and it suggests words and phrases for it. It asks how much of the language you already know, from almost nothing to fluent, and for languages that separate polite and casual speech it asks who you will be talking to, so the suggestions come out in the form you would actually use.

PHOTO LAB Take a photo of what is around you and get the objects in it labelled in the language you are learning, with translations and audio. The third way to turn something you care about into vocabulary, useful for the words you would never think to look up.

SPACED REPETITION THAT FITS YOUR DAY Short sessions are enough. Mark what you know and what you don't; the app plans the next review from that. The better you know a word, the longer the interval grows, until the vocabulary settles into long-term memory. No random drilling, no reviewing what you already know.

HEAR HOW IT ACTUALLY SOUNDS Play pronunciation for any word or phrase, including the ones you added yourself. Learning what a word means is only half of it.

MEMORY AIDS AND SHORT EXERCISES Words stick better when they connect to an image or an association. Add your own mnemonics, and meet small exercises between cards during review.

SYNC ACROSS DEVICES Sign in and your lists, progress, and settings follow you between iPhone, iPad, and the web app.
