Paper Fauna:—China Puzzle Game

Meet China’s wildlife, one piece at a time.

Paper Fauna is a calm jigsaw collection and field guide inspired by China’s landscapes. The app is free to download and includes one complete puzzle in each of five regions. Weekly Encounter also opens one featured animal every Monday, with no streak or missed-day penalty. The remaining content can be permanently unlocked through Apple in-app purchases. Every paid item is a non-consumable purchase; there are no subscriptions.

Every puzzle uses warm papercut textures, a complete subject, and a meaningful habitat background. There are no timers, leaderboards, or ads—just observation, connection, and the quiet satisfaction of finishing a picture.

A TACTILE PUZZLE SYSTEM

• Easy: each horizontal row is already connected; arrange the rows vertically • Standard: the classic 36–72 piece experience • Challenge: an 8 × 10 board with 80 square pieces • Unfinished progress is saved on device for each animal and difficulty • Correct neighboring pieces connect automatically and move together • Preview a destination while dragging; nearby pieces stay still until you release • Pieces remain safely inside the puzzle board • Pause, view the picture, restart, or solve any completed puzzle again

Every completed puzzle permanently becomes a field-guide card. Flip the card to read identification notes, range, and conservation information. The completion page also shows regional collection progress and leads directly to the next animal.
