Cobalt Weather

New: severe weather and rain alerts on your phone, and history for every reading. Cobalt still looks like the weather, with your station beside the forecast.

Cobalt is a fast, uncluttered weather app that takes its color from the conditions and puts your own backyard readings right next to the forecast.

Open it on a clear afternoon and it is warm and bright. Open it in a thunderstorm and the whole interface shifts. Every screen, chart, and detail sheet is colored by the weather it is describing, in both light and dark mode.

FORECASTS • Hour-by-hour and 10-day forecasts, with separate daytime and overnight conditions for every day • Minute-by-minute rain for the next hour where available, so you know when it starts and when it stops • Interactive charts for precipitation, temperature, wind, and atmosphere • Feels like, humidity, dew point, UV index, visibility, cloud cover, pressure, and air quality • Sunrise, sunset, daylight remaining, moonrise, moonset, and moon phase • Tap any day or any hour for a full detail sheet, colored by that day's own forecast

SEVERE WEATHER • Official watches, warnings, and advisories, pinned above the forecast • Color-coded by severity, with the exact window each one covers

YOUR OWN STATION • Connect an Ambient Weather, Ecowitt, Davis, or Tempest station in a couple of minutes • Live temperature, humidity, wind speed, gusts, direction, rain, and pressure • Rain totals by rate, day, week, month, year, and current event • Station screens take their color from your own sensors, not the regional forecast

MADE TO BE YOURS • Save your places and your station, and switch between them with a tap • Jump to your current location instantly • Hide any reading or card you don't need on the forecast page • A forecast widget on your home screen that stays current without opening the app • Pick your own units • Follow your system theme or lock it to light or dark

COBALT PLUS Cobalt is free, with no account and no sign-in. Cobalt Plus is an optional subscription that adds: • Alerts on your phone: severe weather at up to three saved places, rain about to start, a daily briefing, and limits you set on your own station's readings • History: chart any reading from one saved place and up to two stations over the last day, week, month, or year • Your station compared with the forecast, reading by reading, and how the forecast has changed since yesterday • Up to 10 saved places and as many stations as you like (Free includes 2 places and 1 station) • Every extra sensor your station has, from extra temperature and humidity channels to soil, leaf, air quality, lightning, and leak sensors, each one renamable, like Kitchen or Garden • Station widgets and a full forecast widget, refreshed every 30 minutes

PRIVACY Cobalt has no accounts and no sign-in. Your station credentials are stored in your device's Keychain and are sent only to fetch your own readings. Location is used only to show you the weather where you are.
